she comes back to me
 dancing around so easily
 blue eyes shining wide
 smiling ever so carefully
 but underneath it all
 behind her dexterity
 where she hides her lies
 in her subtle complexity
 the sacred vision scared
of the little girl I see
 only coming around
 when she really needs me
 and in time she cries
 speaking now so honestly
 with fear in her voice
 echoing ever so hauntingly
 she’s afraid of knowing
 what she wants to be
 afraid of who she’s become
 so scared of losing me
 but realizing her mistakes
 whisper her tears of misery
maybe came a little too late
but we both say we’re sorry
 and in time we’ll forget
 why we move so cautiously
 crawling around broken promises
 clawing away at complacency
 she comes back to me
 if only in my dreams
