and an angel fell from the clouds
towards the city streets
down by the steel beam skeleton
of a building soon to be
and she cried at what she saw
this world filled with walls
so much like a cage
the frame of a metal monstrosity
where did God go wrong with humanity
she stumbles to stand
on a sidewalk soaked in blood
her knees healing to a new scar
and she thinks to herself
what an awful place to be
no nature
no grass
no trees
this is not how the world was supposed to be
and she cries for what we have done
sky scrapers stabbing the sun
traffic lights replacing trees
streets for creeks
and water so polluted, even the devil would gag
heartless and homeless
have gathered around
to see what from heaven has fallen down
everyone wanting to see
what was on the news on channel 3
unmarked vans and scientists in gloves
every government agency I can think of
fighting to take away
what heaven took away from me
