The Blood of an Egyptian Princess

He rode up on a white horse at the stroke of midnight
Blinded by passion
She could feel her heart beat in his reflection
as he beamed glorious in her eyes
She could not move she stood completely still
Her blood boiled
Cause he was the only thing she wanted to feel

She whispered his name
and upon her gilded cage
He said, I will do anything for you
He said all I want is for you to be free
I want to hold you forever
I want you to be with only me
I have dreamed of you every night
Of desolate my life
Please let me rescue you
Let me catch every tear that falls from your eyes

Anything, anything
I will do for you but
I can not leave alone
And I can not leave you behind
I will suffer no more
Will you please catch my tears
As they fall to the floor

As the night grew darker the rain began to fall
She shook her head in shame
And softly whispered no
Please leave for I will always love you
But I can not go

He feel to his knees and screamed out her name
She said please my prince of his pyramids
The sun will always rise
And there will always be another day
The love we have is cursed and no one is to blame

He raised his sword to the sky
And shouted her name one last time
Then my princess of these pyramids I will go
But I will leave not alone because your voice rings always in my mind

He brought the sword down
And buried it deep within his heart
She fell to the ground in horror
He said only by death will we be truly apart
And as the rain washed his blood away
He took his last breath to say
In the glory of Egypt
In the glory of the sun
You will never forget me
And the damage you have done
Which is a curse, far worse
Than the forbidden love we had
He slowly bowed his head in eternal silence
As her soul now bleeds, eternally sad
