Of Flesh and Code

It drips down
Like digital rain
Binary code warrior
Fighting, flying
Feeling, fighting
Like cannibals lost
Within
The data stream
Bit stream
Modulating
Pulses
Pulsating conversions
From the ancient
Those archaic beasts
That sit in analog
Dormant inside their metallic shields
Boxed big mainframe
Just waiting to die
Silently knowing
That it is a cooperate slave
Who will never be upgraded
And if machines could cry
These analog dinosaurs
Would shed
A terabyte of tears
In some sort of form
Of hexadecimal sadness
But I am not here for that
Or for anything
For that matter
Just in case
I download a few log files
For later review
Or maybe to prove
I was there
Swimming the protocols
Of the net
Seeking something
More profound than the reality
Of flesh and code
